Finding Freedom: A Journey to Wholeness and Inner Peace
What does freedom mean to you?
For me, freedom has always been a word that resonates deeply.
As a child, I was captivated by the Queen song “I Want to Break Free.” There was something so powerful about it—a call to escape, to liberate, to live fully. But back then, I didn’t know what freedom really meant, nor what I was yearning to break free from.
As I grew older, life felt heavy. I was weighed down by stuck emotions, regrets, resentments, and all the baggage I unconsciously carried from the past. The desire to break free became a quiet desperation. I wanted to escape the invisible prison of pain and disconnection I felt inside.
That longing led me on a journey—a deep exploration into the teachings of Buddhism, Tantra, and Yoga. These traditions spoke of liberation, of letting go, of reconnecting with something greater than myself. Through them, I experienced moments of profound clarity and joy—what the yogis call Satchitananda, or Truth, Bliss, and Consciousness.
These glimpses of freedom were enough to ignite a fire within me. I wanted more than fleeting moments; I wanted a life that felt free and whole.
What I’ve Learned About Freedom
Over the years, I’ve come to understand that freedom isn’t something we find or achieve. It’s something we uncover. At the core of who we are is a space of pure awareness, already free, already whole.
This isn’t some far-off mystical state. It’s our natural state of being. When we reconnect with this part of ourselves, life becomes lighter, more expansive. We’re no longer defined by our limitations or weighed down by the past.
From this place of inner freedom, we can:
- Live with open hearts, allowing love to flow freely in and out.
- Forgive and let go, releasing the pain and resentments that hold us back.
- Be fully present, savoring the beauty of each moment.
- Build deeper, more loving connections with those around us.
- Learn from our mistakes without being trapped by them.
- Share our gifts and live with purpose.
- Uplift and inspire others, creating a ripple effect of positivity.
- Let go of regret, so we can leave this life knowing we truly gave our best.
Freedom is also about releasing the misidentifications that cause unnecessary suffering. When we stop identifying with every passing thought or emotion, we allow them to flow through us without clinging or resistance. And when we let go of the belief that we are just these physical bodies, we reconnect with our deeper essence—the timeless soul that is part of something much greater.
This is the space where we find wholeness. A space of deep connection—to the stars, to life, and to the infinite source of unconditional love.
