A Meditation on Self Forgiveness

Today's episode of the One Whole Being Podcast is all about setting yourself free through the practice of self-forgiveness. In life, everybody makes mistakes. Everybody hurts friends and loved ones. Everybody does things they later regret. The wise thing to do is to learn from it and move on. But it's not always that easy. Over time, guilt, shame and self-blame can gather. Our hearts can get clogged and weighed down with mistakes and missteps from the past. Our minds can keep reminding us of the people and incidents that we regret. This can stop us from seeing clearly and enjoying life. Guilt is one of the heaviest emotions. It can be challenging to look at. If we avoid guilt, it lurks in the subconscious. This can lead to all sorts of self-sabotaging behaviours, addictions and cycles of suffering. When we find the courage to sit with any guilt that is here, then we can accept it and let it go. In this episode, I will guide you through a practice to forgive yourself. You will be invited to tune into an event, or person that needs some forgiveness work. As you bring up any stuck emotions into the light, you can accept them and let them go. In this way, self-forgiveness is all about setting yourself free. You don't need to punish yourself for the rest of your life for mistakes you made in the past. You can integrate the learning from that experience and become stronger and more whole because of them. This is the power of self-forgiveness. It leads to greater self-acceptance, a lighter heart, and more peace of mind. Shared with love, Martin
