It's not always easy having a heart. Sometimes it feels up. Sometimes it feels down. Sometimes it's open. And sometimes it can really hurt. The tendency can be to try and control the heart, to suppress painful feelings. But this causes them to remain, until a time when we are ready to feel them. 

This is why it's so important to take time to connect with our hearts with presence, acceptance and kindness.
